Gradings:
We use the Brazillian grading system in our Junior Program. We award belts and stripes on belts as a way of recognising progress an athlete makes.
There are Four Belts, White, Yellow, Orange and Green. A student may be awarded stripes on their belt and four stripes are required before a student is eligable to be promoted to the next belt colour.
The Green Belt in Junior Jiu Jitsu is the highest level of accomplishment an athlete can achieve until the age of 16 years. At 16 years of age an athlete may be promoted to the adult belt system and would normally be promoted to Blue Belt.

Gradings:
We use the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grading system for all our athletes. Our gradings are endorsed by the National Head Coach, John Donehue and recognised under the Extreme Jiu Jitsu Organisation and Nova Uniao Brazil.
There are five Belts, White, Blue, Purple, Brown and Black. A student may be awarded stripes on their belt and four stripes are usually required before a student is eligible to be promoted to the next belt colour.

Information:
Pure BJJ, with and without Gi. Often described as chess with the human body, it is as technical and mentally challenging as it is physical. Originaly developed so that a small athlete could defend themself and overcome a larger adversary.
The technical attacks, counters and counter counters are almost endless so most athletes can expect to keep learning for their entire training career.
As a challenge goes, BJJ is one of the few activities you can undertake that can offer you the cance to achieve something worth striving for. The journey should take many years and you will not be given anything for nothing. But when you reach each of the milesones along the way only you will appreciate the satisfaction and pride that comes with the comittment you make. Just how much of an achievement you are prepared to make is up to you.

Attention:
Athletes who desire to compete MMA need to discuss your ambitions with your Coach. MMA competition training is conducted outside schedulled class times.
Comment:
MMA training is currently undergoing a surge in popularity. The integration of standup, striking and takedow skills with grappling and submission makes for challenging training with as much realism as you can get without getting seriously hurt.
MMA training can be for anyone. It is a great workout and we manage the training to make it as safe as proactically possible. Some safety gear is required and there is usually plenty of pad work and drills to make sure you know how to handle yourself.
