5th May 2008                GOLD GOLD GOLD

7 Gold Medals taken by our team at the Victorian Championships on 3rd May 2008.  I have no doubt that we did better than any other team per head.  Our 4 Adult Competitors all took home gold medals. Our one junior competitor took home a Bronze medal. What a great effort! Congratulations to,
Brett T, 2 Gold medals, Gi and no Gi
Simon C, 1 Gold medal, no Gi
Glenn G, 2 Gold medals, Gi and no Gi
Trevor K, 2 Gold medals, Gi and no Gi
Thomas J, 1 Bronze Medal (junior under 12 years)
As a coach I encourage my athletes to compete for the experience but this sort of result says plenty about the efforts of the athletes and the training culture at our gym.  Sure, it's not all about winning but it's good when we do. Well done.

Syllabus
There have been a couple of changes to our syllabus this month. The Friday night regular open mat is no more.  The junior program has been integrated into the Saturday sessions - so we will see some juniors training on Saturdays. See the timetable.
Pan Pacific Championships
Congratulations to our athletes who entered the Pan Pacs.  Competition experience is invaluable in the process of an athletes and fighters development.
Special congratulations to Trevor K (Gold Medal), Ali H (Bronze Medal), and Thomas J (Junior Bronze Medal).
Facebook
We have our own facebook group page for members.  The facebook  site is so much easier to update than the website so we use it for general information, discussion, video links, announcements and a bit of smack talk.
We tend to keep it only for our own athletes and freinds. If you want to join send us a request.
